Looking for a hive box that’s easy to handle, durable, and built to last? Our Ideal Hive Boxes are the perfect choice for both new and seasoned beekeepers.

Unlike full-depth boxes, Ideal boxes are shallower (147 mm deep), making them much lighter when filled with honey. This means less heavy lifting, less strain, and a more enjoyable beekeeping experience. 

Key features of Ideal Hive Boxes

• Easier to Manage
  A full-depth box of honey can weigh over 30 kg whereas an Ideal box is significantly lighter, making hive inspections and honey harvests much simpler.

• Great for Cold Climates
  Smaller boxes reduce empty space inside the hive, helping bees conserve energy and maintain warmth through the cooler months.

Construction of Ideal Hive Boxes

Every box is made right here in our factory from premium plantation-grown New Zealand radiata pine, under strict quality control. Each box is:

• Finger-jointed & reinforced with 44 screws for strength

• Wax-dipped at 180°C for maximum weather protection

• Finished with primer + two coats of white paint for durability

Available in both 8-frame and 10-frame sizes to suit your hive setup.
