Plain beehive bases work very well. Especially in dryer, colder climates not subject to large infestations of small hive beetle. Unassembled bases are a cheap option for those who are on a budget, or if you are running lots of hives. We recommend that you use a beetle trap. 

This base kit consists of:

• 1" riser made of New Zealand radiata pine. Requires assembly (we also recommend that you treat the wood).

• Durable weathertex base board.

• White cypress cleats which are resistant to termites and rot.
